Barcelona: After the Storm

After three days in a storm, hove to for fourteen hours in 50 knot winds with seas taller than our boat, we finally entered Barcelona in the dead of night, and Port Vell was a mirror of stillness. Safe, present, real, this painting is about weathering the storm, metaphorical or real, and the simple happiness of having survived.
